Prior to A New DirectionEdit
Drew has grown up in a family of 7 people, and is the middle child. Of his family, Drew is the smartest and has always gotten perfect grades. Although he isn't given much attention, Drew has gained a lot of influence from his family members, particularly his oldest sister, who is currently attending NYADA. As a result, Drew has a strong calling to music and acting, and secretly dreams of becoming a star. Having practiced with his sister and starred in a few plays, he is very good at both. However, he knows he should instead pursue trying to become a doctor or lawyer, so he keeps his dream under wraps. Drew also feels attracted to guys, and is slowly losing his interest in girls. While he knows he is probably gay, Drew tries to hide this and forget about it, because he is deathly afraid of being forced out of the closet and bullied. However, he can't stop crushing on boys his age and famous stars, so he is very confused. Drew is mad at himself for this, but doesn't know what to do about it.
Drew is a very kind, calm, mature guy. He is respectable and quiet with his parents and seniors and very fun, funny, and likable with his friends. Drew is also very insecure (from everything to his looks to his grades to his sexuality), though, and stresses himself out. As a result, he is often distracted and can get angry at people, causing fights. Drew is scared of being unliked and bullied, so he doesn't like to hang out with the popular crowd or very athletic, jock-type guys, which makes him seem shy and antisocial. However, once Drew is around his friends (mostly girls), he becomes the center of attention, and can make anyone smile.
